Located at 87 Halsey St, Newark, NJ 07102, Yumsem Eats operates as a korean restaurant serving Newark in New Jersey. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as halal restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.
Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Newark, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across New Jersey run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 am–11 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (973) 350-6232. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, yumsemeatsusa.com.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.3 out of 5 from 156 reviews, which is a strong result for a korean restaurant in Newark and suggests consistent service.
Newark is in New Jersey, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Newark peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

First time ordering DoorDashing from this place. Can’t comment on service or atmosphere, but how can you possibly get the order so wrong? We ordered two chicken bulgoigi rice bowls with brown rice. Neither came with bulgogi nor brown rice. Our fried shrimp kimbap also didn’t come with the side soya mayo and we were charged with all the extras. Taste aside, I’ll never return based on the order alone

Yaaay a Halal place for us to eat good food, Eman an tasmer were so wonderful the selections they helped us choose were spot on, so delicious a the portion size was just right. I would recommend the spicy ramen it’s 10/10, wings with the garlic soy was a hit, initially I came for the Korean BBQ but I was not disappointed at all. Can’t wait to visit again and bring the rest of the family, nice and clean place, good for a quick family night out! Child friendly!

I personally loved this place unlike the reviews. Its completely halal too! I tried their bulgogi beef bowl and spicy garlic chicken. The bulgogi bowl was honestly amazing and worth its price, but could use a little more meat. I also tried their spicy garlic chicken which was a bit disappointing. I loved the flavor but the size of the tenders were a bit smaller than I was hoping and overall just semeed a bit flat. Overall though, I definitely would come back for their beef bulgogi bowl and try some of their kimbap. I definitely reccomend and the bowls are worth it for its price!

I was very excited for this place , I went there on my birthday and it was amazing I order tteokbokki, Kimbap and Bibimbap but my husband order fried chicken and it was uncooked, had no taste and to oily. The one pieces (the picture i post) come in front of my kid and was raw from inside and it was huge doesn't look like chicken leg it looks like chicken breast. Everything was really good but only chicken was not . Next time I will try other dishes but not chicken. Definitely not recommended fried chicken.

0/10. I don’t even know where to begin with how bad of an experience I had here. I spent 40$ on two burgers and fries. And paid 4$ for coleslaw. (Wait til u see the picture) the chicken burger looked NOTHING like the image on their menu. The bun was so thick and the chicken was rock hard yet raw looking. We ordered honey hot and the sandwich was dry. The pickles had a gross taste to it. And then the “coleslaw” we paid FOUR dollars for… was a lil pinch of raw cabbage. Literally took a mini bite and had to throw it all out. The worst food I’ve ever had. The fries were decent only bc it was drowned in salt so you couldn’t really mess that up. But the prices were criminal for food inedible. I am so disappointed as they had a grand opening and still can’t be bothered to put some effort in their food. I am so upset at wasting 40$ on inedible garbage.
